I have butterflies in my stomach this morning, kind of nervous !!!!!!!!!!!! Why ??? I was in charge of setting up spinal injury care group in our unit, although I worked in the orthopaedic hospital before, the spinal injury experiences I gained was limited, but a bit better compared to my collaegues whom have no experiences at all....he, he ..........
Well, well...besides practising log roll (turning) in serious matter, we would not forget to have some funs and also posted for photos taken, of course for sure I would not miss it!!!!!!!!!!
They all played attention to practice how to place a special pillow and neck roll to cervical (neck) injury's patient (Josie as a model). At last they took it quite seriously, thank God!!!
This was a tiny room which we used for our theory teaching sessions. Teaching plus breakfeast, sound right !! But after few hours in this place and received a bit heavy teaching, I noticed some of them started lose their attention........Then that was time for lunch.....no point to continue...Guillie will fall asleep soon, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I never run out of place to go, this time we all went to Camden Town for the Chinese buffet meal, this restaurant which I discovered when I brought my friend there few week ago, the last time I came to Camden Town was may be 5 to 6 years ago. The buffet meal was really worth for money, nice food and only £10 for meal and drink, not too bad and I found Camden Town is quite a nice place to hang around and explore.
We continued our teaching in the restaurant after the meal (as I promised to my senior colleague), even though there still have quite a lot of customer and a bit of noise, we managed to conduct two teaching there. Good place but wrong topic, Archie was so eager to teach his bowel management after meal (actually I wanted to change the program, plan to put the bowel management at the end of the teaching session). Well, I have to stick to the original timetable/program, as I was so pleased to see group member was so keen to involve themselves in the study day/project. After we have just finished eating, Archie gave us a session about how to manage patient's bowel, stool, faeces habits. We are just a bundle of terrible people, can enjoy our meal and at the same time talk about patient's faeces and diarrhoe, for sure only nurses can do like that....
Just like Catherine, she was showing us how to perform manual evacuation......She really enjoyed it !!!
Wilda gave us a great topic about "Autonomic Dysreflexia" She looked quite serious, no joke man..
After that I suggested to continue the teaching just beside the canal, poor Josie could not stay too long under sun, so we moved in the nearest bar......
Beautiful girl............. nice photo, Wilda.
This was the first time the Spinal Injury care group members get together, Cheer !!! Spinal injury group members' photos, but Val was not in .........shame !!!!
Phildah shared her "bladder management " with us and I closed the program with cervical collar care. To be honest I really enjoyed this study day and pleased to see all the group members anticipated in the teaching ,and also asked a lot of questions which some of them I really could not answer them which mean we need to seek expertis ...
We all like to post for photos taken.
Why all other four people stood behind Josie ?????

The session looks fun and interesting for a serious topic like "spinal injury". Instead of "study day", i call it a "study tour" looking at the atmosphere and mood projected by the photos. Oooh.... man! how i wish i could be a nurse!
Well, not all the nurses like us or me that I have to warn you ahead. Nursing job is kind of hard work, in physically and mentally especially in ICU, so you do need to make some effort to make your working day lively or study day interesting and fun, then everyone will think actually to be a nurse is not a bad idea. Quite a lot of nurses want to leave their job and always said if they have a choice they would not want to be a nurse or for their next generation. So for the future, I think we need machine or robot to look after the patient, I think that going to a trend............
Having machine or robot to take care of me at my sick bed!? No way. I prefer a nice, kind, gentle and humane person. I hope this day won't come to me when I'm in hospital. Ai ya! I'm only kidding when i said i wanted to be a nurse. Dont take it seriously.

Ya ! I am going to believe you want to be nurse ! You are good/excellent in your job as an English teacher. Actually that was not a bad idea if you become a nurse, you can create a laughing therapy to the sick people....it was better than modern medicine !
